Introducing Change

The introduction of Change Management in any areas of IT can be daunting, so a phased approach can be taken:

  • Implement Operational Change Management before full Change Management : authorize changes just before they're ready to be implemented in the operational environment.

With this approach, the change is still built and tested without proper authorization but the operations department will only accept changes which have proof of adequate testing, documentation and implementation, verification and back-out plans.

  • Start with a specific area of IT in which unauthorized changes have caused the most disruptions in the past (f.i. network)
