Evaluation Management Policy
The Evaluation Management Policy sets the guidelines for the evaluation management process.
ITIL version 3 defines Evaluation Management as a process to assess whether an change to service will be acceptable.
The Evaluation Management Policy must address issues relating to:
- what changes have to be evaluated before final transition into service operation
- the assurance that evaluations are conducted against customer requirements (SAC - Service Acceptance Criteria)
- the types of evaluation status that a service can be placed in (e.g. accepted, rejected, revised performance requirements).
- the interface to Change Management (i.e. if actual performance differs from predicted performance then an interim evaluation report is sent to change management and all evaluation activity for that service is stopped pending a decision).
