Trigger-Based Funding
In the Service Strategy volume of ITIL v3 the trigger-based plans are defined as a funding model alternative that is triggered by an pre-defined event.
For example, a request for change or an availability issue may create a need for additional funds. The authors of the book feel that the approach is a useful one as it recognizes changing needs, as per a lifecycle approach.
However, this author wishes you luck in establishing a funding policy based on “get what you want when you need it”.
