Functions

Functions are logical groupings of individuals with specific skills. A functional group or team is generally responsible for a specific set of activities that lead to specific outcomes. They are generally self managing and have developed work practices and procedures that apply to them.

Functional groups can be clearly shown when looking at an organizational hierarchy.They provide structure and logic to the way the organization is arranged. Within each functional team a variety of roles are defined.
