ITIL Service Transition
ITIL Service Transition is one of the five (5) core references from the new version of ITIL. Version 3 of the ITIL Framework is a complete redesign of the framework, along a "lifecycle" philosophy.
ITIL Service Transition has a variety of goals including the management of customer expectations regarding the anticipated performance of new of changed services. ITIL Service Transition also seeks to reduce the variance between expected and actual service delivery.
Other elements covered in this text relate to management of resources responsible for the delivery of changes to a service or the integration of a new service into the production environment.
