ITIL v3 Qualifications
ITIL v3 Qualifications scheme has been finalized and announced by APMG.
ITIL v3 Qualification scheme comprises 4 elements of study that a participant can use to earn the ITIL Expert qualification (which is the new name given to the ITIL Diploma in Service Management".

The qualification scheme has two compulsory courses. The Foundation (entry level) - worth 2 credits and the Managing Across the Lifecycle (peak level) - worth 5 credits.
To earn the ITIL Expert status a participant needs to have 22 credits. The other 15 credits can be earned from a variety of courses. These are outlined here:

Each of these courses are worth 3 credits if the participant is successful in the exam.

Each of these courses are worth 4 credits if the participant is successful in the exam.
A combination of 15 credits has to be earnt at the Lifecycle and Capability levels. The student will be free to choose which courses they take.
Participants that have existing ITIL v2 qualifications have upgrade options available.
